Tuners are VERY SMALL details in the grand scheme of things. On drag boats or F1 boats where hundreths of a second matter they MAY BE worth foolin' with, but on the average lake toy you'll never tell the difference.;)

The tuner changes makes BIG differences going from the stupid LONG 150 to a 200 length one .... A VERY noticeable difference ... I like the Bob's tuners ..

I don't know the price anymore but when I changed mine, I put the 2.4 bell tuner. It's a mercury tuner and it was only 50.00.

I've posted this picture before, but not lately. It's always been one of the supporting arguments for my belief the fooling with tuners on a lake boat isn't worth the trouble. (plus a couple of dozen others since on various V6 Mercs)

The tuner on the left is from the Twister 2X, the fastest & highest operating RPM inline 6 outboard ever built. Notice that evil old long tuner.

The one in the middle is the first design race tuner for the T3 Merc. The one on the right is the second design T3 tuner. I wouldn't say for sure that these were absolutely the first and second, but rather the first and second type that was offered to me from Merc as a backyarder who didin't even show on their radar screen. Notice the first design had that evil length to it also, while the second one was maybe half the length, and ALSO fatter. Problem was, same day on same boat the change made NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER on the top end number.

I could not agree with you more :icon_bs: Several years ago i went for the G farce Tuner/drill all the holes, set the motor back a couple of feet and at the end of the day all that went faster was the money leaving my pocket. But it was fun learning what all green horns like my self learned :iagree:Want more ponys lose the 150 get a 200 want more lose the 200 get a promax 225 want more get a 260 . The ratio is high for more MPH after you get to the level beyond the capacity of you motor. But this guy is only cutting off one he has already so least he aint doing what i did spend big $$$ for nuttin

:iagree:thanks for all the posts guys. i did talk to jay about my motor and he recommended getting a 200 block and front half. thats what id like to do my self but i can put this 150 back together for 500 bucks! ive never owned a stream and im sure this 150 will push her ok. ill need some seat time in her anyway. trying to figure out what i need to do. i know what i want to do, is to get a 200 block. ill still think on it for awhile. maybe a 200 block and front half will fall out of the sky. that would make up my mind real quick! lol!! thanks guys.
