u can pick up some pretty decent ones from radio shack (the source) or even toys r us ....any thing from a hobby shop is goin to be pretty pricey unless u want a gas or karosene powered one instead of battery then u will have to pick it up from a hoby shop

Tower Hobbies, they have everything from low end to hipo. Better than the Radio Shack crap, you can usually get repair parts for their stuff.

No prob. I don't have any of the boats, but my son and I have two Revos and they are well built good running trucks. :)

Go to tony at whobbies get the gator kit put it together. and go run it for yourself and put a throttle stop on it for your son to run. air cooled with a clutch he just cant really hurt it that way. you can control how fast it will run and you can make it run 40mph when you want to play. problem solved..........

I've had the Traxxas Nitro Vee for about 7 years now, play with it every now and then, not as much as I used to, but that's a great little setup. The best thing is if the motor dies, it has an electric motor to bring it back to shore. so long as you're there with supervising him, I bed he'd have a blast with it. I've loved mine! Seems to go forever on a tank of gas too!
