A contact from this board has a 200 EFI at an attractive price.

What are the pros and cons of EFI vs carb 200's. The motor would be left stock.

Is outboard EFI as easy to start every time as automotive EFI?

What is the upper rev limit on the 200 EFI

thanks

David-

Since no one else has answered, I'll give you my opinion. The efi generally does start quicker, idles cleaner, and accelerates a little better. The downside is troubleshooting the efi system when something goes wrong and the cost of the replacement parts. Given a choice on the same motor, I'd take efi over carbs every time.

I don't know the rev limit on the 200 electronics, maybe someone else can give it to you, I'd guess around 6750. If it's a major concern you can have it removed/changed.

If it's a 200 EFI fishin' motor and not a Pro Max, the rev limiter is 6450 vs. 6750 for the ProMax.
A very reliable motor but as Shadow mentioned, more expensive to repair ECU related problems than carbs.
