can you still buy 849849a1 from merc? my dealer says they're no longer available. if not, what are 260 owners supposed to do?

The ACU will work great on the 260. $950 and a one year warranty.

Agreed, with the above. But your dealer is wrong the 849849 box IS still avaliable, infact merc released a new box just a few mths ago... same part number.
Buy a Brucato.
