What the heck does the XD stand for? I've searched all over and can't find an answer???

XD stands for XD ... just marketing ... XC meant extra copper alloy. BP, SS and XS were used on racing motors. People like letters ... letters and numbers have sold lots of cars, 300's, SS's, GTO's, 240's, 260's, ZR-1's, tii's

That's pretty much what I figured. These, from what I gather, were early 80's engines? Pretty decent for it's time?

make sure the slip electrical connector are clean. other wise the motor wooldnt start.

Extra Durable (Durablity) I think it was the first year model with thicker skeg on lower and different bearings above the piniongear??

Cool, thanks for the insight guys. Looking at one that's on ebay and it appears to be in really good shape. We'll see how the bidding goes :rolleyes:
