Theres a guy with this wicked photo!!!!! of his Allison Grand Sport.:thumbsup:I tried to no avail to enhance the pic for better definition. Can some one try to crop and make the pic higher quality than it already is some how and post your results on this thread so I can copy it for him? The reason is its so rare to get a shot like this I would love to help get it so its frame quality. Because this is definatly a FRAMER! This is the original and what I was trying to do. http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/whipperr/airride-2.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h151/whipperr/untitled-3-1.jpg

Nice........

Was there a slight wake or something there and the pic was timed just right, or did it actually carry it like that with two big guys in there?

Just wondering, I think its a cool pic.

Thats how they look head on. Theres lots of shots of Ziemers GS from not as head on as this one but you can see how shes right up on the pad like this also. It realy hard to get a shot like this one thats for sure. Thats one of the reasons Allisons are so fast with little HP on a hull thats over 20ft long. They jump right up on there at about 65 untill wot.

this is a good example of why you need to shoot in the raw mode. in the raw mode you could have corrected the white balance and lite values. if you can shoot in raw start doing so. the new cameras w raw options do both the raw and jpg on to the memory card. use the jpg for the wal mart 3x5 and raw to correct issue for proper printing.

its a great shot at the right angle. too bad on the contrast.

If the original photo was shot at 72 dpi, then the image is just going to keep degrading with every crop and save (compression) to .jpg. Hopefully, the resolution of the original image is 300dpi....or even 150dpi. Then you can crop in somewhat and still keep the pixelation to a minimum. If you want to print the image, the resolution should be at 300 to get a clear print. Of course there are several other things that need to be done to get a decent print...a contrast curve, color balance, sharpening, profiled correctly for the specific printer and paper type...etc.

If you have the originial file (straight from the camera, memory card, film scan), I could take a look at it and see what I could do.

On a side note, If you want to print it out to say 8x10, the optimal file size would be in the neighborhood of 20mb.

I love stuff like this. A little late to the party... but-

one technique I've found useful on low rez images is to use a photoshop filter such as dry brush, watercolor or poster edges on it, then size it up.
depends on the image, but sometimes the results can be ok, depending on your tastes.
