Fl Boat Insurance?

I just off the phone with boats u/s to renew my boat insurance. I can renew but no new policies in Fl? does that sound right. I weighing out whether to bring down my old boat or buy another if I buy another I need to find a new insurance company. Does that sound right? thanks Rick

From what I understand, if there is an active hurricane any where in the Atlantic, they won't write anything, boats, homes, rv's, nothing.

but from what i found on mine they wont insur any speed boats
i could be wrong but i think there is a speed cap

I am not sure about Boat US policies, but when I went to close on my house a while back, we had to push the close date back two weeks until one of the storms in the atlantic ground out over fla, the insurance co wouldnt write the policy if there was an active storm
