Buy a drag or s3000, 10 barrels of race gas and go for it!

I would say if you want reliability get a 280 and you will have both! My opinion!

How heavy is your rocket, 280 is a great choice, :)

boat weighs 680 lbs...just wondering if the drag is too much in terms of lake friendly and belongs only on the drag course

I ran a drag on my STV euro for 2 or 3 years and I ride alot! Never had trouble  except from people that say you can't do that and it live :p If you know hi perf motors you should have no problem.. remember race gas only!!!!!!!!

All 3 engines mentioned would be a great choice, but the 260 will be the slowest on Your hull... The Drag is nasty on a light boat, but a 280 with 16 amp electronics is nothing to dismiss as a push-over... good luck

Howard,
Go, either drag or 280. I had the drag on mine at West Lake, and am still putting my 280 back together, which I have both elec's for.
Kevin
280, w/280 elec's will give the least fine tuning.
