I'm looking at a 27 Progression which use to be a single I/O. The hull is for sale, no engine/drives etc. My question is: If I were to put an outboard bracket on it and rig it with twin OB's, do I have to beef up the transom? Are the OB boats built the same as an I/O??? Also, what is the hull weight of a 27Progression? Any predictions of speed with twin 225's? Thanks in advance!

Really I would think if you added transom knees you'd be fine. As for speed http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/showpost.php?p=609426&postcount=2

104 with 300 promax's (Non-X Motors)

Yes, indeed, there isn't much better information than talking to the correct end of the horse. I hope your'e getting this thing cheap enough to make it all worth it.

The Progression does need some glass work-I'm going to look at it this week. Hypothetical: If you could pick up this boat for 4,000 with a steel Myco trailer and have access to one engine already, would you do it? I have a 27 Magnum Sport hull which is twice the weight of the Progression, I'd probably sell the Magnum and put money towards the Pro.
Anyone want a Magnum Sport hull?? 4,000 OBO:D

If it is the boat I am thinking of isnt that the boat Kevin from progression raced with another guy?

I love that boat.

Up,
Your right-this boat was a class "A" raceboat, then ran Factory 1. I raced against it in Atlantic City 4/5 years ago in 10' + waves, it delaminated/punctured it's hull. The boat was sold and stripped. It is available, but needs some serious work. Just looking at some possibilities now.

Wow, must have been some serious water!

There are a few youtube videos of it from circa 2000 on youtube and it looks like it runs real nice and balanced.
