I just picked up a 18' sterling tunnel with a 200 black max. This is my first boat with a hyd jack plate and I'm wondering if anyone can fill me in on the proper use of the jack plate so I can get the most speed out of the boat. Also if anyone has any info about this boat I would love to hear it (good or bad) I can't find any other boats that look like it or any info on it.. It's a 1979 sterling 18' tunnel with a early 80's 200 black max. I just bought it from the orig owner and it has 270 hours on it. It runs great and it's pretty fast. I'll try to post pics. Picked it up for 2500 bucks (good deal?)

cool, never heard of a skater, This boat gets a bit crazy in chop but it seams to stay level when it leaves the water!! the prop is a 24 p .Any idea if I can put trim and jack plate controls on the steering wheel? and if so who makes them. Thanks

yeah i see what your talking about, wish i had a newer motor but with less then 300 hours I don't see why I should spend the money.

hang on, my mistake the 18' skater had a center pod that I for some reason forgot about. I am sorry to mislead you.
