Is there any beter way applying gelcoat to a transom without all that elbow grease :mad: sanding it down.

Gelcaot is a plastic. If you don't sand it good it will peel off. Paint only needs a good 320, but the gel needs 120 or so. It just needs a "toothed" surface for the stuff to stick. The coarser the better.

If its after sanding your talking about you might be able to use a plastic board pushed against it to make it smoother.

FINISHING CLOTH,

it is real thin like a sheet for a bed, lay the gel on, out this on top, let it sit for a few, then peel it off and vale'---smooth finish.

I will just wait a day or two for it is very cold at this stage.
