Blew the rearend on the truck this weekend pulling my buddies race car to the track. Figures. Out of the rumble. But I know for sure I'll be up and running for this one. If someone could give me a little info on what the deal is (camping, rooms, etc.) it would be appreciated.

Sights for lodging and some lake pics
http://www.flipenterprises.com/ - this is the Inn closest (walking distance) to the Saturday evening rendezvous at Sport Island Pub

http://www.innatthebridge.com/ - this is also close to the Pub; docking available

http://www.superior.net/~lanzi/ - nice upscale restaurant with a big deck; casual

http://www.eagleshore.com/ - just some photos

http://www.ReserveAmerica.com/usa/ny/nort/ - NYS campsight; nice lakeside sights
- sights 204 to 213 recommended......214 - 216 are very good but inpossible to turn a trailer around in but with a waterfront sight you could just leave her in. I'm at 207.

The turnout is growing...maybe I'm going to have to do a little more. The campsites are pretty full as well as the motels. May have to travel a little further for accomodations like the Super 8 or Holiday Inn in Johnstown. Me....I'm with Phastboat...wherever my head my lie type of thing.

Is looking really good. The beaches and islands are finally re-emerging. It looks like the place to meet is going to be at the campsites or at the Northville State Launch.

How do I get to Northhampton Beach Campground? What town and what lake is this camping excursion taking place on anyway?

Liqui-Fly
08-05-2002, 08:40 AM
From New York State Thruway, take exit 27 at Amsterdam, proceed north on route 30 for approximately 22 miles. Turn right at campground entrance sign and continue for 1.5 miles. Turn right again at second campground entrance sign and travel 1 mile to the park.

The one eaarly in the year is the one to attend. This is going to be just a couple of days of mainly hanging out on a busy lake. How did your event go? Did you tear up any big blocks?

I know a 10 day future cast isn't worth much but next week and weekend is looking sweet. Mid 80's. I'm going to spit out a semi plan for next week. For those that are coming up on a whim my brother-in-law said we were welcome to park our boat up in the barn overnight and hang out there if we wanted to Saturday night. There's a nice point with firepits ect. I'll post directions to it later.

Well Mike and Helmut are coming up Thursady..so I'll be up Thursday night and will be there around 6 on Friday. Just meet me at the Marina Friday evening. I'll send direcxtions later. It is basically the same as going to the campsites...just a few miles closer.

If you are coming up Friday or Saturday and don't have a room or aren't camping let's meet at Miller's Grandview Marina on 342 Lakeside Drive in Mayfield, NY. Before you make the right on RT 30 that heads North you'll see a sign that says Mayfield business district. Green sign. School St is the roads name .Just before the turn there is a Gulf gas station on the left hand side of the road. Go down and cross the bridge..up a little hill and on top turn right on to Lakeside Drive. About a mile or two down the road you;'ll see a sign for the Marina.

Call me any time.

Let me know on that they need a count next week....ticjkets are $32 but it is always worth it and then some. Food all day(burgers, franks, sausage, Chowda, 3 or 4 dozen clams raw or steamed and then a steak bake). Music and then fireworks and a bon fire. It's a bitter sweet weekend cause it's fun but it says goodbye to summer.

Mike I posted the best pic under Mr. Clean's thread but will e-mail you the rest once I download them. Looks like that Bullet Cut carried the Superboat real well. I think I'm going to invest in some superpower hand helds for communicating in the future. Phones are starting to work better up there...which is a shame ;) .

David,
Had a great time as always. Friday's storms washed out any boating for me. A little lighting put the Sheriff's boat out of commission when a tree fell on it. HEHEHE! Saturday was beautiful, hot sun and hot boats. During a walk around the island saw a seaplane take off, which was neat to watch. Also saw a couple of bi-planes doing loops and wing overs, that was cool also. Mostly though it was lookin at everbody's boats and chating about boats was the best. The ride back to the camp grounds was rough as hell though. Sunday's dam run was fun and the dip at the dam was refreshing. At some point during the run I broke part of my skeg off. I had it welded about 2 years ago and it snaped it off at the weld. I didn't even feel it at all because I don't run the motor that high. I noticed when pulling the boat out after the run.
At 100 plus,
It was a pleasure to meet you and your wife.
Helmut,
A pleasure meeting you and Brett. Zach and him really hit it off and if it wasn't for him all I would hear is "Can we go now." Thanks!
Phastboat,
Thanks for the dogs!
LOOKING FOWARD TO NEXT YEARS ROMP!!!
