I have a 2000 Euro ski 1999 225 Johnson. My insurance company who is
Travlers ins. wont touch it. I have never filled no claims and they carry my
Baja Outlaw. So I used boat u.s. for a quote and they sent back 836.00
for the year now, this is more than i pay for my baja and something is wrong. I know its a tunnell boat boat but d%**. So i was curious what
you guys on here think i should try next. Any info on other ins. companys
will help!

State Farm insures my STV and Scarab. Only Co. that would do both.

We just switched to state farm for every thing and my HST with a 2.5 merc is 11$ a month. But we have multiple vehicles,ATVs,some times its cheaper the more you have on a policy.

I pay about $600 per year on an agreed value full coverage policy on my boat. Not as fast as your stv, but 800 a year doesnt seem so bad.

State Farm has both of mine, 1997 STV EURO with JSRE engine and an 1999 Allison XB2003T with an 225 Pro Max. Stv's like $230 with an value of $22,000. Allison is $240 with about the same value. I provided serial numbers of motors, boat and trailer and my Agent didn't blink an eye.
Good luck Kurt

I really apreciate all the help men. I will just go with it probably for
now. I just can't believe its higher than my 24' boat. I've never had
any claims on bikes boats or cars and haven't had a speeding ticket
in over 12 years. I guess i will just probably pay it for now and still
be looking. The hole rig is paid for i just won't it covered just in case
you know. Since eveything else is going up in price why not
insurance. Thanks to all for your time

I think it is more of how well you know your agent. Someone mentioned Alfa. I use to work for them and they would not insure my STV. I used Allstate for another STV and when I was ask how fast and I told the truth the agent stated he would put in something else so it didn't cause a problem because they do have some sort of speed policy ( which means the policy satisfied the bank but probaly left them a way out is something ever happened and it was speed related ). Don't know about Proggressive and tunnels but I do know someome that had an Allison with a 300 drag insured by them.
Basically this issue seems to be all over the map.
The only thing for sure is, that if you lie about the speed and something happens your policy is worthless.

My '99 euro is insured under AIG and its $280/year with boat season from april thru september (meaning that the boat is insured aslong as the accident was not in water, between october and march). I told the agent that the boat was a 19' euro ski that has a mod-v, he asked the horsepower and i told him 260hp, he asked top speed and i told him over a 100mph, he said I will put 70mph for policy purposes. I asked if the boat is covered no matter what and he told me if someone was video taping the crash and he had a radar that was visible in the shot that showed me going 70mph then they wouldn't honor the policy. Anything short of that and they have no possible way to prove the speed because what happens to a boat at 70 happens is the same at 100mph. I agreed... The reason i state this is because i was denied 4 times by every other insurance agency when they asked me top speed. Next time I will tell them 70mph and take my chance with the guy with the video camera and radar gun.
