will a 1980 200hp mercury crank work in a 1988 200hp mercury powerhead? thanks. fred

YES !

As long as you don't need the oil pump gear on the crank.

Mix the oil, and you are fine.

Make sure the center mains are the same! I found the older cranks had shoulders on the
centers, and not on the newer! Don't know what years... T-Rex mite know!

Older cranks will fit in newer motas, it'z tha new'r cranks ya gotta watch out for tha center mains....U good to go, 80 and 88 haz the same mains:thumbsup:
