Challenger 21 KIT??????

Some guy was telling me years ago he bought a kit and put together a challenger??? he said it was a challenger not a copy but he had to put it together???? Chris

sounds strange...dunno how that could work..a boat isnt like a kit car that u can just rivet and bolt together...did the guy glass the sections together? never heard of anything like that before

yeah found one in a marina and he says it was a kit he built from challenger years back and his friend also built one??? scares me a little i was going to make an offer floor is solid but at the tip of the bow a little soft from water getting in the rubrail seems anything i can do with that??? Maybe the guy didn't explain himself & meant to tell you he bought a hull & deck and rigged the boat himself....................That's the case with 80% of us on the board, but that's not considered a kit boat by any means......lol

the deck is probly crazed all over due to the water and therefore very soft as well...theres not much to do with that. Ive seen guys that have grinded it all off and then restore it but that is a pain in the a$$ and not worth the aggrevation

Since we are discussing challengers..what speeds do u get from an old challenger with a stock merc 200 on the back? I know they are a little slower then the superboats/ shadows...would u see 70?

Saw 70.1 gps was my best with 1981 2.4 225 at 6100 with a 24 trophy if I remember
