to close to worry about.... if it does have the offshore housing they say it adds 20 lbs. it is bigger because of the exhaust snout.. it is also thicker everywhere.... also stronger!!!

i thought they were a little lighter than that, but it's close enough!!!!!!!!!

oh thanks guys..does that means the offshore have more torque than the black max?
cause here in my country theres not much qualified mechanic who can give the exact info about mercury they are all into suzuki, yamaha and evinrude.

F(for)Y(your)I(information)check the max rated HP for your boat on the coast guard tag then referance the internet on the weight of that engine. Yoyu can add about 25% to the HP and you should be good to go IE: we have a charger rated at 150 max HP with a 200HP nblack max m0ounted on it with not hull problems ever

the max rated hp for my boat is suppose to be 85hp maximum i ow an 14feet old school shakespear but i've mod it to be able to fit a 150hp blackmax then i decided to fit an 200hp offshore thats why i'm trying to check if theres more weight to the offshore,

but theres a friend of mine whos boat is very lighter than mine but he have fit a 225 evinrude..check the attachments and you'll see the evinrude on the 16feet shakespear..so guys if i fit the offshore on the 14feet does it have a disadvantage of getting fast speed?

LMAO!! Thats funny. Are the extra rims helpin hold the back of the trailer up so it doesn't tip backward from all that power strapped on the back of that jet?

If its a prouduction 200 hp offshore series there will not be a noticable power or weight gain over a regular 200. The OS series was built to withstand the salt better. mike
