I hate this setup and am looking for some advise as to options I might have in changing it.

I just don't like having to use this for shifting the gear and also the throttle. Too much to do while trying to dock and also it's on the drivers left side.

I was wondering it there is an easy way to re-do this with a gear shift mounted in the same place and adding a throttle on the right side of the wheel.

Is this a bad idea?

Does anyone have a good suggestion as to maybe just changing this out with a newer model/brand that may work better?

Thanks for any and all input.

can you install a hot foot for the throttle????? shift with your hand, and throttle with your foot.. common in bass boats and fast rigs..

I have the same shifter/throttle in my bullet. I just use it for shifting gears and have the hot foot for the throttle. I know its a bit old school, but still works well.
