Don't know what the best rigging is for an Invader, but I have an 86 Evinrude 40 hp 20" I would like to sell. I would like to sell the jackplate, but I think it's too big for your boat. The jackplate is too big for mine (Bullet 130).

Do a " search" on here, there is a guy who makes a SUPERVADER which is a different bottom than the original, and sounds like a nice little running machine.

As Far as rigging goes, I would try and find an older Mercury 50 or 60 short shaft, bolt it to the transom and be done. Those motors are getting harder to find but they are out there. I own a 15 Ft. G.W.Invader and grew up around the 10 15 and the 1 ft Torpedoes ( the Tunnel hull Invader) will always have a soft spot for them. Good luck with your project and shout out if you need more help. Welcome to Scream And Fly, its a great site you'll love it.

we should do a small boat poker run sometime.

My brother has a 14ft v-hall with a 45ss power head on it.

I think we might be able to get enough boats to make it a fun time.

Nice looking cat JrCRXHF. What kind of power and how does it run? A small boat poker run would be awesome. Where were those pics taken?

We used to have one with a 15" 1971 50hp Johnson. Ran about 50 with an old 2blade 23" alum prop. Ran at about a 5 degree crab from the torque. FUN boat!

The boat has a 35twin merc on it now i am looking for a different 15" motor that i can power the boat with a stinger 75 would be nice.

It does not run that fast about 30mph i can not find props for this motor it starts and runs good but just needs to be on a fishing boat.

The pictures were taken by the hardy damn in big rapids i think we could do a poker run there it is a really nice place to boat there is a wide range of boats on the river from STV to 30+ v-halls houseboats ski boats and so on.

I will be there this weekend with the cat i don't know what boat my brother will bring he might run his Four Winns 201 Lib.

I'm also on the lookout for a Stinger 75 or Yamaha 70 CES, but I'd like a new trailer first. Mine runs 35-40 with the Evinrude 40.

My boat's gonna be out of commission for awhile. I'm planning on taking the 40 off and selling it and restoring the boat.

Hardy dam area looks like a nice place to run.

What do you mean by too big? Too much setback, or too heavy?
I have a CMC Manual Jack, 5 1/2 in setback on mine and it works well.

My boat only does 50mph but I go to Lobdell or Holloway. Don' have to worry about the patrols doing 50.

It's physically too tall. It protrudes the below the pad. It's a TH Marine Hi-Jacker. I'll have to look into the CMC.

I rode a PWC for the first time on tipsico about 10 years ago. My friend's dad's friend had a place there. He bought it in the 70s for peanuts. Tipsico seemed like a nice quiet place.

Does your bullet still have the 15" transom? I had the notch in mine closed off to accomidate a more common 20" engine, but I think it would still work had I not.

I don't think there is any difference between the 45ss and the regular 60 hp twin.

Yeah I still have the 15" transom. I'd prefer to keep it that way as I'm looking for a 15" engine. My jack plate is probably really heavy too. I've never had it off the boat. It was already installed when I bought it. It looks really beefy. What powers your Bullet?

'92 60 hp merc, as you can see in my avatar the transom sits really low. I need to be out of the boat to adjust the height. If i stand all the way to the stern the water still flows over into the splashwell.

I am also curious about a jack plate for a GW. I am picking up my new 10 footer next week. What are your thoughts on making one like this:
http://www.dillon-racing.com/jackplate/index.htm

I also found were someone used this Panther 25 on their GW with good results:

The boat I am purchasing has a 35 Merc. I will let you know how well that does.

The Dillon unit is almost identical to my CMC, and the Plans for them look exactly the same as the ones in the installation instructions of the CMC

The motor was "worked on" but a guy here in michigan who ran 45ss boats now his younger son runs the 45ss and his older son runs the next class up with the opti merc.

Just my opinion from being in a few GW Invaders back in the DAY , but 40 hp will not get your rocks off ....the hot setup would be anything in the 50 - 75 hp range . The old 50 Mercs , 55 Looper OMC's or even a 50 tohatsu or yamaha would make it scream . Just be careful .....they will NOT turn under full power !!!!!!!!

45ss is a box stock class, no "work" is allowed on them

He has outlawed carbs upgraded reeds and then a milled head and above water exhaust.

parts that were not legal in the race class.
