just got a Xr4 got a few questions

I have a 1988 sea ray seville 16ft, It came with a 100HP I4 mercury. Well it was ok but I wanted more speed and power for pulling, exspecialy when i get my buddies onboard. Anyways I found a 89 Xr4 checked compresion and all cylinders were between 130-135. Witch was about 15psi higher than any cylinder on my old motor?... so anyways, I now have it installed and gained about 20mph on top (making my top speed right at 60mph at 5600rpm) and my crusing speed at 3500rpm is right at 35mph (witch was only around 23-25mph before.
Now that I have that clear I have a few questions. This motor is QUIET!!! I cannot beleve how quiet it is... i want it louder, lol Does anyone have a video of boat before and after a exhaust mod? I dont want it ear ringing loud but I want to be able to hear it. It just runs so smooth and quiet compared to my old motor it makes me fell like a grandpa.

And the next question is, what temp should this motor be running at? My old motor ran aroun 130 no mater how high I got the RPMs, This motor seems to run around 140 and when I get the rpms up it will climb to around 145-148.

This was my 2.4L 200. With relieved exhaust. Had two holes drilled in the mid and the can removed. It was LOUD. Not really ski or cruising friendly.

My XR4 has a unique note, not really loud, but not quiet either. The kids can recognize my motor from a mile away by the sound.

Noise is wrong. All it does is piss people off and draw negative attention to our sport.

yea i guess your right, I do go to the river/lake to get some peice and queit, BUT I personaly wouldnt pass up hearing a V6 screaming by every now and then even the big fountians and scarabs with 2 or 3 v8's that are loud as hell sound nice. Now what I find annoying is the jetboats, They are WAAAAY to loud and they are slow as hell on top of that so they stick around for a while they never seem to go away, they just shoot water 200ft and sit there.........
but oh well
