I need to drop a few thousenths, I know I've read somewhere about dropping hot solder thru and then resizing (by drilling then reaming) to reduce the size of your jets.. is this safe? is this standard practice? or where can I buy new OMC jets at a reasonable price

im sure its been accomplished but there are too many flow issues with drilling your own jets.

The cheapest place to buy jets that I have found is ishopmarine.com. About 6 bucks each.

That said, there are many of us here that run OMCs and drill and ream jets.

That said, look on ebay and buy a set of carbs for about 20 bucks. That way you get 18 jets and spare parts.

I have no issue drilling/reaming, I always complete with a reamer for a good finish... but mine are too large and i need to go down
