I have a set of 150hp Merc carbs mid 90's model, I have 94 200hp Powerhead that i just refreshly built. My question is can i drill out the main jets from .074 for the 150hp size to .082 which is what the 200hp Calls for and run those carbs? Other than the venturi size i cant seem to think why i could not run those carbs. Any input would be great.

They wont work well because of the venturi size. The venturis control the fuel curve.

as us1 stated no. the flow thru the carb will be too low. enlarging the jets will just richen the mixture.

and you never drill out the jets. You must replace them!!!

Are those carbs the 1" venturi ones? anyone know if the will support a 2.0 Bridgeport (Stupid Parker 300 NEW Rules)

Thesmaller venturi carbs will run on tha 2.5 or tha 2.0, but the jett'in will not wind up wher the chart calls...the air flow will be much stronger, thus pull'in harder on tha jets...Tha increased fuel/air velosity sho helps bottom end, but don't do nutt'in but hurt top end numbers....

They will, but won't allow the top end rpm ov tha larger carbs...Ya never know juss what it may do...Juss jet fat and work down....Who knows, a high geer wit a tall wheel may be a good combo for tha F-1 wit lil carbs???....
