On Saturday I lost my Best friend. Dave Mccleland lost his battle with cancer. Dave drove the # 87 Mirage Jaguar in the DVBRC, NEODA and ODBA drag races. Dave was a great man. We met in college where we were roommates. Our Friendship continued after school. We vacationed, raced and spent most of our time working on the boats together. Dave will be missed by many. He leaves behind his wife Andi, two brothers and his Father. Dave I love you and will miss you very much. I only hope that someday our paths will meet again. Dave McCleland 1970-2008
RIP buddy.

A true friend is something special and their passing so young is hard to understand. Best explination that I have heard is that God takes those that he needs in heaven more than he needs them here on earth.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Ben, hang in there, I bet Dave wouldn't want you to be sad but instead remember the good times. I know Andi and Daves Dad are feeling the pain also, he seemed like a good person the few times I saw him.

Teers are rolling down my face as a write this. I met Dave threw Ben back when I used to race with DVBRC and he was a great guy . He and Ben were almost unsepratable .The support they gave each other and the bond they had was something you don't find to often. My heart goes out to all that knew Dave . I got the phone call from Ben yesterday while I actually was in my Hydrostream on the Manatee River and told Ben that I would do a Fly -By in Dave's honer . Well, I didn't let you down man. We had a mile of flat calm water and we let it eat and it never ran better. I'm sure he was along for the ride. Love ya man, Rebel.
