Have a Mercury 175 hp V-6 what displacement?

Just pulled a powerhead apart, the Dia of the bore is 3.125 is the block a 2.0 litre??

Thats a late 70's mota, and it'z 175 rating wuz at the flywheel!!....It should have the large exhaust, and more compression than the later 2.0 fish'in mota's...To date, the best runn'in stockie 2.0 I had wuz a xr2-150...But, I have a 175 built to run in DSRA SS, so I kan give ya a comparison nex month, I haven't quite finished the bote yet...I kan tell ya that all the other 2.0's are out to lunch @ 7200rpm(cept tha xr2)..but I only had 1 xr2 outta several that exceeded 7200......I am hope'in tha differnt ports and comp will help the old 175 make a better performing mota...time will tell!!

I was going to sell this block, it had a corrosion break between the exhaust and water jacket - I heli arced it closed and remachined the gasket surface, the bores are stock and cleaned up nice, the powerhead had a rusty rod bearing and trashed the crank journal. I heard the cranks (no oil gear) are good for race motors so I might have the journal repaired for a 2.5 steel sleeve performance engine I am building.

But over-all the block is now very nice and I have all the parts to the powerhead (ign, flywheel, reeds)- Just want to sell it to someone who could use it.
I have all 2.5 stuff so I don't need it. I don't want to give it away, but happy to make someone a good deal!!

I have a couple dozen that people have dropp'd off over tha yeerz....Corse, I'm a junk collector, I juss hate to see sumpth'in junk'd...I dug the tha pile and got 3 blocks out to build up for SS, and if they don't pan out, they will go on a crab bote sumwher....Ole timers are tha only guyz that want a 2.0 kuz they are tuffer than thier larger ci brotherz...specially fer runn'in in tha mud like theze guyz do!!:thumbsup:

I was going to list it on Ebay, I quess someone may want to give it a new home. I may list it locally here in the Boston area, see if someone besides you ~ who doesn't have a pile off em!! May want it. And hopefully they don't know about your stockpile of 2.0's
