I have an EGT gauge on a 98' 2.5 200 EFI, at @ 5500 rpms The right side is @ 1100* but the left is lower at @ 950. Any idea of what can be causing this?

It is most likely caused by the probes being places slightly differently in relation to the exhaust chest and the location of the bottom exhaust ports.

I have the same reading ,1 prob must been in more.
If one cylinder is not firing correctly or if you have a small water leak in the exhaust it can do it too.

i agree with us1!!! no dought if you are a 100* off you have one cylinder down, or water leaking at the powerhead/exhaust plate gasket!!!!
are they real close at a idle" water" always lower by a 100 or more dead cyl//
just my 2 cents..

Is this only at cruise? If you give it a little throttle, does it pick it back up? If so, it's 4-stroking. My 260 does it too.

Keith, it does rise almost level (both side) at WOT. Sorry for ignorance, but what do you mean by 4 storking (firing pattern?) Thanx

4-stroking means that the engine is running so rich it is missing on some cycles.
When my engine goes through the RPM range, there is always one pyro that is ahead of the other, and they change back and forth. Things only stabilize at WOT, when they are pretty much even. I would not worry.
