300 vs 300

How do the 300xs motors run with the 280's and the 300 drag?I know they are geared diff.,but hp is hp an't it?If you put them on the same type boat(1200 lb. hull)what would be the difference ?

big diff IMHO. Drag and 280 need lighter boats to get the rpms to get to the HP, the XS is made for heavier boats. XS would be OK on a lighter boat but not develop the speed the drag or 280 would, and the 280 and drag would be a waste on a heavy boat trying to get the rpm's up. 1200 lbs, I would go with the XS

Thanks Fish,I recon with the torque of the 300xs it would turn a big wheel on a lite hull easy!I'm thinking about buying one and rigging it up on my 20cc Bullet.I bet that sucker would be a handfull!This Xhull Bullet weighs only 900Lbs.
