Hey guys, I have a 94 XRI 150 ser#od285475 . I removed the oil injection, timing module and set it at 23deg. It wont rev over 5000. I am trying a 25" Turbo 3blade that the boat came with. Its on a 94 Gambler intimidator 19-3". It idles like a charm and had pretty good hole shot but is topping out at around 5gs and upper 50s. The marina said it wasnt fast but I took it as poor setup. I set it up right in the ballpark as the other trusted users had there setups at but am way down on my numbers. Compression is around 120, my guage could be off but they are all even. I have read every post possible on Ecus and cant find the one thats on my motor. If I read it right it is an 14632-A19-- the 19 was wrote with a marker as well as the number 9311-23843 below it. Any help if this is the correct one? I tried a 24" small tube 4blade and it topped out the same and slipped bad. This should run in the upper 60s at 55-5800. Any help would be great. Thanks

One other thing, the motor will crank for about 10-12 seconds before trying to start. Once warm it fires right up. The electric pump is working fine, the primer bulb gets hard and cant see any leaks. It has the quick connect on the cowling.. I never had an EFI before but shouldnt it fire up quicker?? Thanks lee

What do the sparkplugs look like? Black? Tan? White?...

The plugs have absolutely no carbon on them at all. In fact they seem wet when I take them out.

My thoughts would be that you could have more than 1 problem. On the starting issue I would check the TPS and set it to .250 V + or - .010 V. Be sure and disconnect the air temp sensor on the port head when you do this. It is to say the least touchy so be patient. On the not turning up could be a sensor IE coolant temp sensor not having a good ground. Most of this stuff defaults rich on the fuel. Also before you check the TPS do a link n sync by the manual. What is the difference in between the pad and shaft?

I believe your 94 should use the same controller as my early does, which is an A4. Mine is a little slow to start when cold, but not bad. Check the TPS, fuel pressure, and also check the yellow with red wire from the starter solonoid to controller for cold starting help. I hooked a diode into mine and hooked the push to choke function up which helps to keep it running when cold. Mine used to start and stall alot when starting, now I can push the key in and hold it when starting and no more lean sneeze.

I will check out the TPS and grounds to make sure there good. Most searching shows an A4 module, I might be able to borrow one from a local salvage yard and give it a try. I am leaning towards it running rich myself. I read the post on hooking up the wires for an enrichment setup on efis. I lowered the propshaft to around 3 below for holeshot and have raised the jack to about even on topend with no major improvement(hydro jack). The cold start is not bad,im was just used to my old carb motor firing up by the second crank. Thanks

Have ya or do ya turn tha key on and wait a few seconds before turnin' ta start? Gives a little time ta get tha pressure up in tha system when its cold.........T
