Hey guys my buddy has a 1998 Baja with a 454 Gen 5 in it with Msd ing. Where should we set the timming at? And is there a wire that we need to unhook when setting timming??

Thank you Skydog:thumbsup:

You don’t need to unhook any wire on the MSD ignition box to adjust timing. As a starting point not knowing the compression ratio, weather, etc, etc… and fuel you are intending to use. I would set the thing at 36 degrees total. You could possibly need to go up or down from there… it all depends on way too many factors to give you a “set it at X degrees” and forget it… just an experiment to achieve the best performance …just don’t go to far until you here rocks in a coffee can sound or you’ll end up with holy pistons.
