I got a 2.4 ovalport EFI racing motor (240@7000) setting on a 92- 2.0ltr mid section with a 2 piece adapter plate. My problem is I can't get it to warm up past 100 deg. Got 1/8" fender washers in it, doesn't have a poppit valve. Already scuffed #6 piston & don't want to do it again. Water temp here is still in the 50's. US1 - John Marles emailed me the cooling mods but I'm still not sure on what to do. It doesn't say whether he is modifying the top or bottom plate. Can someone walk me thru this or post pics on where & what to do ?? Thanks for your help.

on my 2.4 i have the thermostats taken out. it has washers where they would be you can change the operating temp of the motor by changing the hole size of the washer. to big of hole it runs cold to small of hole it runs hot.

put some restrictors in your dump hoses. keeps the water in the block longer and gets it warm. also helps with water pressure. I had the same problem with mine until I did that.

Doesn't the 2 piece plate have larger dump holes than the 1 piece ??
