I am putting a 115 Yamaha on my 17-1/2 ft. Stratos. I have a 19 pitch composite prop right now. Is this probably the one I need or should I go to a 21 pitch. I don't have the motor on yet so I don't know how the 19 will work. Anybody running a 115 Yamaha?

the 19 will definately help u with a load. the 21 should work fine and get a little more speed but may take hole shot with a load but them 115 yamaha's have pretty good bottom tourqe.

I am running a 115 on a 16 Ft Hewes RedFisher and am happy with the performance of a 20 PTR 3 blade that has been lab treated by Throttle Up. No two boats-motors or props will be the same. Even how you drive ,load, and use your Stratos could change what style and pitch prop will be best for you.If your Stratos/115 combo needs bow lift and you are after top speed over a hole shot you may want to start out with a Yamaha Pro series 21 or Power Tech PTR 3R21PYM9. I have found out that the V-4 Yamaha make great power if you turn them a little more than the 5500 RPM redline that Yamaha suggest. The low to mid 6000-6500 RPM range pulls very strong and wont kill your motor. If you dont need bow lift than the clever type 4 blades that Power Tech make may be the direction that you want to go in.Finding the perfect prop isn't easy but it is well worth the time and effort. The PTR Power Tech props are over 100 less than the Yamaha Pro Series and have a great support system to help you try and pick the correct prop. E mail Marcus at Power Tech and see if he can steer you in the right direction. marcus@ptprop.com Marcus Clemens if he can't help you than you are in trouble. This guy is good at what hec does. Hope This helps. Joe Raimondo
