I was wondering what is the best product to get rid of swirl marks. I have a 1988 red and grey allison xtb that i just bought and i haved waxed it and now have ugly swirl marks showing up on the red. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I went to a body shop supply house and got, 3M Finesse It. That and a low speed buffer and the right pad.

You want the 3m swirl remover in the quart bottle its a blackish grey color, forget the name just ask them, its better then the finnese, you will need a waffle pad for the buffer,,then use 3m hand glaze by hand, you will not get no better...

3m swirl remover works well as does the new 3m ultrafina blue. Just make sure you are using the foam pad designed for final finishing. Wool pads will leave swirls no matter how fine the compound....

Wool for cutting, foam for finishing. Don't burn the finish.

I specialize in BLACKcorvettes and specialty paint on boats. Use a foam pad and 3m swirl remover. The secret is slower speed and only use a little bit of swirl remover. Put a thin line on the surface and then put power on buffer about 1/2 way. Slowly move buffer back and forth then up and down in about a 6-8 inch area. Final buff should be a terry cloth pad with a good wax without silacone because silacone wont let you repaint it easily.
