Single Ram mid Vs 3 ram tilt/trim for 2.4 ?????

Hi, I would like to convert to 2000 (from 2.5) clamp bracket with intergrated tilt and trim. My current unit is a single Ram from the early 80's.

Will my exhaust adaptor/center section bolt to the clamp/tilt aseembly of the newer unit? will the lower unit/shift assembly bolt up? Is the wiring the same?
What other parts awould be needed for the convertion?


Will I noticed any improvement in trim and tilt operation?

I'm no expert but when I went in the opposite direction, from 2.4 3-ram to a 2.5 single ram, I had to switch to a 2.5 mid section.
