Does this motor have a rev limiter? If so, is it housed in the ECU or in the control module? I am hoping that it either doesn't have one, or I just have to send the ECU out to have it removed. This is the later style electronics without the switchboxes on the side, and the CDM style ignition coils.

Also, is there a way to remove the detonation module from the system?

It don't matter... your slow azzed boat would never reach the limiter if you tried Grant!:D
Check your pm's.;)

It's not going on the Stratos.... :D
And something tells me that little 200 will outrun your Stroker about any day of the week once I get the new hull and get it on the water....:D

Maybe not, maybe so. Mine is still a better "kitty" magnet.:D:D:cheers:

I have a 2000 model 200EFI as well with the CDM packs. First according to Tony the PCU/ACU is not compatable due to these electronics have a lower voltage signal thus will run unreliably with the ACU/PCU.. The detonation controller can be disconnected though since the motor has no idle control box the most the controller would do is retard the timing .. The rev limiter is still in the ECU with it going rich above 5800. Mine pretty well hits a wall around 6200 or so and really does not want to do much after that. I tried and A17 225 ProMax box on mine and it ran great but was too fat on top.. Sean at Rapair told me to send the ECU to him and he would put an A5 200 ProMax program in it and would run great with that. On the carbed motors of this year with the CDM packs the rev limiter is in the trigger breakout box on the top port side of the engine.
I brought it Sean's attention that even though the ECU is on control of the limiter on the EFI the control box does have an impact on timing. If you put a timing light on the engine and disconnect the main ECU plug and spin it over record the timing * you read. Now disconnect the plug from the control box on the top port side tha ties into the harness that runs down into the main harness and now spin the motor over and the timing will be different..
The control box on top does change it and under unknown conditions.. I think there was a 5* difference in the two ways. I guess the only way to be sure would be to put the boat in the water and set the total timing under running conditions. Then record what the timing is static testing and make a note of that figure for future reference..
Sean said in his spare time he would reverse engineer the control box to see how/why it affects it but since these type ignition systems were only used for a couple of years I do not think there is a high demand for them doing any major work...
I really like how clean the system is as far as wiring and so far as worked well on mine, I just hate that little bit of mystery in the programming..
I have been on the lookout for an A5 ProMax box to try rather than getting my A30 flashed just in case I does not work well..
If you get yours done let me know how you like it..

The 200 is a complete running powerhead, I am dropping it on the mid that my 225 Promax came on...Also using the alien cowl and sporty case from the 225. Now I just need to get my bass barge to sell so I can mount this baby to an Allison and have some fun...

Update...the 200EFI powerhead does not fit with an alien cowl without slight modification. There are "tabs" on the bottom of each cylinder head. The tab on the left side will contact the metal plate on the lower cowl pan. Took me a little while (and a lot of head scratching) to see why the powerhead would not seat correctly. Raised the powerhead back up, cut the tab off, ground it flush, and then she set on the metal piece of the lower cowl pan perfectly. Now if there is enough clearance for the cowl over the coils I'll be set...lol
