Hello guys, I've been a member of this site for awhile now, I don't post much but I browse often. This site is a great source of info.
Here are some current pics of my Starflite, it's running an Evolution Marine Stage 5 4.0L OMC V8. Right now the prop is a tad too small for the power and I'm currently waiting for a 29p chopper to arrive. last weekend I hit 70.3 on GPS at about 3/4 to 7/8 throttle. My 24p Raker is just too small and the rpm shoots to 7500 before I can reign it in.
Anyway on to the pics.
My brother and I heading out to warm her up.

There was a dealer here in Mansfield, Ohio that had a similar Checkmate with a V8 running around 90. You're in the right place to get that C'mate flying:)

Sleeper cowling! ;)
You really need a foot throttle in that thing. Boat looks properly proportioned with an 8 on it. Good luck!

Nice boat...with the proper setback, motor height and prop that boat should see upper 80's, low 90's. You should post on checkmate-boats.com...there's alot of Starflite data that will help you set up your boat and it's a Checkmate exclusive site! Alot of guys, like myself, toggle up and back between Checkmate-boats.com and S&F.

Thanks guys.
Yeah Keith, it's great having that 250 cowl!
I am a regular on checkmate-boats.com, same screen name too.
I am hoping for a bit over 90 (with a foot throttle and possibly trim tabs) as Kunkel was seeing 92 with a stockish 3.6 back in the day.

haha, thanks I already did. Fingers crossed.
I'll be getting a foot throttle and possibly trim tabs to keep things under control. Already have the killswitch (attatched to me) and dual Seastar hydraulic steering. I need to get some solid mounts as well.
Thanks for the tips and comments fellas, it's appreciated.
