View Full Version : 2.4 L wh22 jetting?

What size idol and backdraft vent jet sizes do most of you run ? It is a 90 2.4L stock compr. timing at 25deg. wh22s with 82 mains with velocity stacks. Wot 5500rpms with slight bog at mid range getting on plane( energizing the enricher makes it slightly worse).

Scott, ain't carbs great, Lots of jet changes I'll look at the chart in the back of my SELOC repair book. My WH31 have gone from 82's to the latest 76's in 1,3,4,and 6 and 78's in 2 and 5 this is one jet size larger than stock for other 2.4 200 carbs because of my velosity stacks. I didn't run it yet, but after running 78's it feels like it might be the last effort. :)

For mine 76-78 to lean ran it with 80s and ceramic was faint light brown, I think you are talking mains. I need to get my off idle -mid range bog fixed.

Scott, this is Brian white Allison from york I realize your looking for Idle and vent jet size. The stock main jet size for WH22 are 74 in 1,3,4 and 6 and 76 in 2 and 5 due to 2 & 5 run a little hotter than the rest. Stock idle jet size is 46 for all six. Vent jets are 96 in 1,3,4 & 6 none in 2 & 5. hopes this can help. Did you do a WOT run and shut it off at WOT before you checked your plugs for burn color? :D

Yes I ran it from the lower ramp at Long Level up to just past the pump station (upper ramp) and back down then shut it off at wot, loaded with the Minn Kota.
The plugs were just barely light brown, so I put the 82's in all holes. I still have a bogg from 1400 rpm to about 2800 rpm. The carbs I have on it all have 96's in both the backdraft and idol vent 2 dont have any which I think is 2 and 5.
I'm just trying to establish a base line.

Scott, the SELOC manual reads " smaller vent jets leans the fuel/mixture mixture". If activating your enricher makes it worse looks like maybe a 94 jet is in need. Are the vent jets interchangeable with idle and top end jets?
