I am trying to track down a problem I am having with my 2.5/280. I continue to see CTS limit codes (starboard overheat) popping up on my DDT. I have outstanding water pressure at around 13-15psi at WOT. The heads are cool to the touch and the shiftbox horn never sounds. I have even taken the heads off to look at the water jacket and o-ring seals. My question is: When I keyup and my battery voltage is 12.1-12.4 is this a possible source of the codes? low voltage. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I quess having a DDT is a good and bad thing. Neverless, this is a high dollar engine and ignoring codes could result in a expensive repair.
Thanks S&F

Low voltage "can" cause 280 issues for sure. I would'nt think that slight amount of voltage drop from spec would cause issues. You might try clearing the codes and in the mean time put a super hot charge on your battery bringing voltage up to above the 12.6 then run it and see if the trouble code later appears after a trip out ...That might rule out OR point to a charging or battery issue and ease your mind..
just a thought,

The ddt is also telling me I am in speed reduction for 5 seconds?? I will test with a "hot and cold battery" to look for the codes at keyup on DDT before running.
I'd rather check the simple things before throwing any retirement money at it. lol.
