The Mercury manual suggest NGK BUHW for your engine..I find them to work well in carbed and analog EFI High Performance engines and the NGK BUZHW has worked well in the Digital ECUed engines...
good luck,
Jay

"R" higher cost resistor plug! Used with computer controlled motors. Quiets down tha ignition noise. Mainly for digital stuff..........

The NGK BR8HS is also a good plug for that application.
Hey guys these engines ain't a space ship you can cross plugs from the stock plug number and run many configurations and brands on the market, I'd just stick with a direct cross so that the heat range won't damage the engine..They run in price from high as a kite to dirt cheap, and MANY work just fine.
good luck,
