Small 2 Stroke Merc?

I found a new, never used, display model 2003 9.9, but I really need a 15. I've heard that a carb change or an advance cam change will make it 15. can anyone tell me the real story? Thanks MartyD

Google it. I'm sure a carb change would do the trick. I would get some carbon reeds too. Guy on my lake did the same with his 9.9hp not going to go mention names now but he said it worked..but only on the larger blocks. Yours must be a 262cc same as the 15hp. So I don't think it would be a problem..worth a try.
