Troubleshooting Hydraulic System
IMPORTANT: Operate Power Trim system after each check to see if problem has been corrected. If problem has not been corrected proceed to next check.
1. Check that manual release valve knob is tightened to full right (clockwise) position.ffice:office" />

you sucked air..... replace the O rings on the release valve mechanism and change the oil in the trim pump resovior.... these will avoid a repeat...... did that same thing long ago when I was about 13.... I was in OH so much trouble till the shop mechanic said its just an O ring...... we rebuildt the release valve and to this day nearly 3000 hrs of operation later its still working flawlessly

If you trimmed it all the way up in cold weather then tried to trim it down in hot weather, you experienced hydraulic lock. Next time, pop the release valve and see if it starts working again.
