Why or what?

Just got my titus torquemaster for my 300x and driveshaft sticks up 23.25 inches above the top of the lower unit,but my old sportmaster sticks up 9.5 inches above it,what is recommended here?

Assuming the measurements were both from the flange up.....
First guess is the Sporty has a 2 piece driveshaft and the drive shaft is stuck in the Powerhead. Grab on it wiggle and pull down. Should come out and make room for the one piece TM shaft.
