I think I understand the benefit of the jackplate at high speed. What does it do for handling in the midrange? How about holeshot for skiing?

I need to replace / upgrade my steering from the original single to a dual cable setup anyhow, so I wondered if it would make sense to add a jackplate while I am at it.

Currently the 2.0 '135' with a 24" Turbo will push it 55 on GPS with just me in it. The engine is about 2" above the transom, I don't know how that comes out measuing from the bottom.

It is a Glastron SSV176, not a Carlson. It takes a lot of trim to make her fly.

Thanks for any advice,
Davehttp://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=129800&d=1181986056

An adjustable jack plate would do you wonders. Not manual!!!! You would be able to run it hi for fast speeds and better handling. (would not need to trim out so much and boat would run flatter) And for when your towing drop the motor for some good holeshots and better bite. Hope this helps ya out.

You should fit the cables with the jack plate on, 'cause the eng. will be back
farther with whatever set-back you use. Sometimes you run into problems
with not enough cable.
