I think I understand the benefit of the jackplate at high speed. What does it do for handling in the midrange? How about holeshot for skiing?
I need to replace / upgrade my steering from the original single to a dual cable setup anyhow, so I wondered if it would make sense to add a jackplate while I am at it.
Currently the 2.0 '135' with a 24" Turbo will push it 55 on GPS with just me in it. The engine is about 2" above the transom, I don't know how that comes out measuing from the bottom.
It is a Glastron SSV176, not a Carlson. It takes a lot of trim to make her fly.
Thanks for any advice,
