Ok I run a chopper on my checkmate, and Ive been wondering about yammi props..are they more along the lines of a cleaver, or is it like a chopper? I like the bow lift of the chopper..so fill me in guys..all input would be helpful..oh its a 20 foot checkmate, with a xr4 150 with a six in jackplate, and about 3 inches below the pad..(if I raise the motor higher, I lose bow lift) runs 62 and 6000 rpm 22 pitch prop..

I think you'd be better off with a Tempest or a Trophy than a Yamaha. Mostly I see those used by drag racers. Your boat isn't a drag boat.

funny you mention both those props, have both of them sitting in the garage to test out..I tryed the trophy and it didnt have the midrange hit that the chopper had..

A yami will not work on a heavy hull (checkmate)

The yamaha prop is more like a chopper. Has a lot of rake to it. You should try a Mazco RE if you can get your hands on one!
