A friend has a 02 - 17' Lowe alum. semi vee tunnel boat with a 50 horse mercury (4 cylinder) with a 16 pitch prop (alum.). This boat has trolling motor up front, 4 seats, in the middle, and a 12 gal tank and 2 batteries in back. Drives from a console in the midsection, but has a porpoise problem at all speeds.
Would someone have an idea of how high the engine should be on the transom. Say from the cavitation plate to the top of the tunnel.
Also the boat has a whale tail on the cavitation plate.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you
