I Have a 1973 15 1/2' True tunnel and need help finding a prop for it. I believe the weight rigged without the motor is around 500 lbs. It has 2 15gallon side saddle fuel tanks.

The Motor is a 1988 Merc 135HP 2.0. I have made some mods and should be about 150HP now. I have raised compression to 138-140lbs, bumped timing to 24 Deg, Glass reeds, 200 tuner and WH29 Carbs. and removed the oil injection. It has a Bobs Cone and lower PU. Gear is 1.78 1 .Have a land and sea transom jack. Any and all help would be great. Thanks

I'd try a 26 Cleaver first to see if it will pull it,don't want a chopper till you know how much lift the hull gives when running hard, be careful with the trim button at first it could become an airplane if you aint careful.

The guy I bought it from had a 245HP FI Bridgeport on it. He had a 6" set back plate on it and said it went better bolted to the transom with the Land&Sea Transom jack. He owned the boat back in the 70s with a power of tower on it and also a 200 HP Black max with no transom jack. Claimed it never got flighty he was always balls to the walls. He owned the boat twice for a total of about 20 yrs. Thanks for the info.

Proping it will depend on how much bow lift the hull provides at speed,if it doesn't have enough natural lift then a chopper prop is in order. Try a 26 chopper and see how it runs, dont be skeered let r eat.

Still waiting for ice out. Won't be able to try for another 3 or 4 weeks. I will try a 26 chopper and give some feedback. Anyone else with ideas?
Thanks again Terry
