I have been trying to run my 22ft preditor bay boat on skinny water, I am trying to achieve at least 8 inch shallow runs. The boat has very small mod. tunnel. I am using a Johnson 150hp with 20inch shaft. . So , I cant rely on a tunnel to feed water to the prop. I stacked two plates , which gave me a 12 inch setback. The question is will I achieve what I am trying to do ?
What are the pros and cons of this rigging, and is it safe. I have not tested this setup, just installing now.

i built my own jack plate ,it worked but ,stacking 2 idont think would be to safe ,where the 2 bolt tgether, these guys talked me into buying a new one ,i believe they make a 12 in set back plate ,good luck ,if you do try that definatly use a good stainless bolt

Thanks fellas for your advice. I think I will find a single 12 inch plate to put on . But for now I will use the stacked setup untill I find the other. I have to admit it works very well. Also, I have been seeing alot of other boats over here in Texas with this setup. Most of them have the hydro plate stacked onto a manual plate. I have two hydros stacked.
