I know this topic has been discussed before, but I am looking for some information a little more specific.

My 24 had some 2.4 240's on it with some hrs on them (Comp was around 110 in all 12 holes). The boat would run 97 Mph all day long and any where, With a best of 101 Mph with light load, aired out in salt water at 7600RPM.

I am going to fresh 260's. What kind of improvement do you think I'll see?

What are others seeing with 260's ?

Lastly, I have 14.5 x 30 Labbed Merc Cleavers. Should I leave them alone and rev it higher or put some more pitch in them? If so, How much? 32?

your running the same set up as I am and about the same #'s

I think with 260's you will see 109 ish but you'll need to add some pitch

Jeff, Funny I sent him a PM with the same #'s and info earlier because that's what I was getting out of my setup with 32's. I also loved my throttle response. TL

it seems that hey hit a wall around the 100 to 104 mark and it takes real power to get them higher then that......like anything else the first 100 is easy but the last few will cost you big.......

I don't know whether you gain from loosing the back seat weight ( about 175 lbs) or because it smooths it out but If thats what your looking for 2 or 3 is a ton

Hottrucks/skydog - At those speeds, the rear hatch cover really improves aerodynamic drag, and can add surprising new velocity!

Thanx for clearing that up Jim ( hope to hear from you Monday night in chat again soon) I know from the sping clean out and to switch my batteries that my back seat weighs alto more than you think again I would say about 175 lbs and I just bought a hatch for the boat and about threw my back out picking it up....yea I thought it was going to be in the 75 lbs area and when I snatched it up it only weighs about 35 to 40 lbs ( I can lay it in standing on the fender of the trailer over the side by myself with minimal effort, which isn't easy consider the 42" X 63" size of it)

Hottrucks - your weight reduction will also make a difference! All tunnels and high-performance vees are very sensitive to weight and power, so a weight reduction is just like adding HP!

hey Dog just for giggles measure yours up mine is 42 3/4 wide and 63 from front to back..it leaves a walk path behind the seats about 18" wide if I could extend it I would.......then add a couple of race bumps to match the seat profile..it would look killer

Loefler, and prior to Loefler, Ed Thornton(EDIT Marine), Joe @ Sundance, etc., absolutely destroyed that boat. Its been broken & repaired more times than any boat in racing memory. Won its share of races, that for sure.

what the hell are you talking about??

Dog thats not an option right now my camera moved out with it's owner .... What I can tell you is that your sie panels need to be down about an inch or better from the top in order for it to be flat with the top rail
