I ran the 1500XS for the 1st time this weekend and did some minor on water testing and it was not run much, brought it home and the next morning I noticed a few drips of gear oil from the lower water pick-up holes  I pulled the drain plug and the fresh gear oil was milky, drained it right away? Plan on dropping the unit this weekend. What should I look for? All gears/bearings feel good? I am hoping it is something simple
History: Before this test run, It had not been run in years and the gear oil was very nice with no signs H20, no cracks or repairs and no signs of any problems, so all I did was replace the H20 pump impeller, clean, paint and go with it....
I would appreciate any input,
Brian

Bad seal under the water pump, the driveshaft can also be scored and need replacement.

Thank You! I figured there was seal somewhere, I will check the shaft while I have it out :D

Glad to see this running. It looks great. Anyway, 99% of the time the shiftshaft seal leaks. Pull the lower drain and pressure check @ 15/20 psig. Replace the leaking seal and recheck. I'll bet the problem is fixed. Good Luck....:D

Hey Bruster,
I am glad to finally have it running too, it's been a long road and now I only have to get the bugs out of it. As soon as I get it all sorted out, I will get a vid posted. Thanks for the tips...
