I have a 99 Nitro with a 92 150XR6 on it and was wondering about putting a jackplate on it. The boat is rated for a 200, but with this 150 it will run 57mph gps at around 6000 rpms. The motor throws a pretty big rooster tail. It also has a big gear case on it with 1:87 to 1 gear with a laser II 25p prop. It comes out of the hole good with me by myself. Is this motor enough power for the boat not to hurt it? will a jackplate help the performance?
Thanks
Scott

jack plate will help the top end especially with some low water PU. the hole shot no. use cavation fins to correct that.

I was just looking at it and it looks like the prop shaft is about 3-4 in. below the pad when trimmed all the way down.
