paint removal

i have a few parts on my 2.5 that have chipped paint. i want to repaint some of them but dont want to go over the old paint. every paint stripper i have tried just wont touch that paint. any ideas that will make it easier for me?

would the sand pit the alloy very much? or should i use a different media?

powder sand works well.....Even wit "Play" sand, U won't pit up the aluminium any worse than what primer will cover!!

I found that a combination of professional aircraft paint remover and sandblasting worked best. With sandblasting only, some of the old paint was so hard that the sand created dips in the aluminum around the paint that was stubborn.
