need help going faster im a newbe

ok i have a 1978 baja 16ss
when i bought the boat it came with a 1963 johnson 85hp
running but old and impossible to find parts for
i just bought a running 1996 force 90hp with power tilt and trim off craigslist for 200.00 and the powerhead and lower unit were rebuilt last season
the guy sold it so cheap because he said his wife was allowing him to spend 10,000 on a new merc and he just wanted money for his time to take everything on his boat off and label it for me
anyways what should i expect to see with this setup on the water (mph)
and what can i do to make it faster
with the motor all the way down the top of the stock prop sits 1' above the bottom of the hull

i had a 1994 omc on a 15' checkmate and a 1977 85. there was no difference between the tw. i dont think you'll see any measureble difference. that is if the 90 is any good. most of the time the forces in our area of the country as a trade in are worth zero.
