I have a very healthy 1994 Mariner oil injected 115hp. I am looking to put it on a 1985 20' Advantage low profile hull. It is a nice sturdy boat which typically calls for 150-235hp. I'm okay with less speed from installing the 115 but are there any simple bolt on HP tricks that don't compromise reliability? I know sometimes changing jets in the carbs add a little HP. Are there any web sites out there that will calculate the hull's likely top speed with the 115hp?. Anybody have a 150-235hp Johnson/Evinrude big looper running powerhead? Please advise, thanks.

Leave it alone..........You would be better off just buying a Higher HP motor. With that 115 it will have to work ALOT harder on a 20ft boat that calls for a 150HP-235HP. It could cause Damage to the Power Head and would probely use More gas. I would find a smaller boat to but that 115 on or sell it to get a higher HP Motor

And plus it would look kind of weird to have a 20ft Boat with a little 115:p
